The frost was blowing off the trees. The morning sun catching on the large flakes as they swirled and danced through the air. It was magical. It was soothing. It was a good reminder to take it easy. An important message: slow down, soak in some beauty.
You have a purpose, a path, a reason to be here. You are always moving toward it. Always taking the next step. Yet, sometimes you rush. You get impatient and don’t want to wait for the “right time.” So, you settle for something that fulfills your desires in the moment, and not much longer. Then you become restless again. Or, you get stuck in a situation, job, or relationship that you don’t truly love, or that doesn’t lead you toward your purpose. Or, it only takes the long, slow, not-so-scenic route.
What would happen if you stopped to smell the roses? Watched a sunrise or sunset? Listened to the birds singing, or tried to count the fireflies? Maybe a little time to stop and listen to your intuition or the messages around you, and you would be moving faster toward your goals. Maybe, you wouldn’t be trapped within a mediocre attachment to something, someplace, or someone that is slowing you down.
Make the decision to slow down for yourself. Take a breath. Listen. Look around you. Don’t jump to conclusions or make major decisions on impulse. Savor the messages you are receiving. Contemplate them on several levels and interrogate them from multiple directions. Take your time. Be sure that this is the right direction, for now. In the mean time, absorb the light and beauty around you.
Take it easy. Breathe. Trust in yourself and in God’s plan for you.
